New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson today announced the formation of a Presidential campaign exploratory committee, with the clear intention of seeking the Democratic nomination for President in 2008. "I am taking this step because we have to repair the damage that's been done to our country over the last six years," said Richardson. "Our reputation in the world is diminished, our economy has languished, and civility and common decency in government has perished." "The next president of the United States must get our troops out of Iraq without delay. Before I became Governor of New Mexico, I served as Ambassador to the United Nations and as Secretary of Energy. I know the Middle East well and it's clear that our presence in Iraq isn't helping any longer," said Richardson. "Our next President must be able to bring a country together that is divided and partisan," said Richardson. "It is clear that Washington is broken and it's going to take a return to bipartisanship and simple respect for each other's views to get it fixed. Most public policy solutions these days are coming from Governors and state government. On issues like the environment, jobs, and health care, state governments are leading the way. And that's because we can't be partisan or we won't get our jobs done. That's a lesson I've learned as Governor and that's what I'll do as President."

  11. SENGHOR Says:
Ron Paul is the only presidential candidate that follows nothing but the United States Constitution. He votes for, and ONLY for, things that are directly supported by the States Constitution. His voting record will show it! He is for small government, and wants to keep the government out of our daily lives. A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for the beliefs of our founding fathers, RON PAUL 2008!!!
  12. Aethelred Says:

  20. KRAL Says:
I'd pick him over Obama and Clinton any day. But doesn't he remind you of Howard Dean in a way? Somehow the media will eat him up and throw in the biggest puppet of the rich.

Because unfortunately he doesn't have the Hollywood flash factor of the less qualified, less electible, less substantive Clinton-Obamas
  23. Tearlach Says:
The drive-by media elite have decided that Hillary and Barack are the only candidates in this race. They are fools!!! These buffoons wouldn't know the pulse of the public if they had a perfect cross-section of America right in front of their noses. Only a fool would jump on the silly Hillary/Barack bandwagon. SENATORS CAN'T WIN. THEY ARE UNELECTABLE. THEY ARE LONG-WINDED BLOVIATORS WHO DON'T GET ANYTHING DONE. GO RICHARDSON!!!
  24. Boyden Says:
Why is this guy getting no attention?
  25. Cetewind Says:
I love how he has the guts to say the most important reason for running for president, that we have to fix the terrible damage of the last six years. AT LAST, with Obama and Hillary we get plautitudes and BS but with this guy we get likeability, experience and brains. This guy has my enthusiastic support!
