What a day!!! Hereford United, then of the Southern League, defeat the mighty Newcastle United of the First Division (for our younger viewers that was then the top tier of English Football) by 2 goals to 1 in an epic FA Cup 3rd Round Replay at Edgar Street, Hereford. Hereford's first goal / equaliser, the famous 'Ronnie Radford Rocket', was subsequently voted BBC Goal of the Season for 1971/72 and the winner was scored by Ricky George who went on to co-own a Grand National winner (Earth Summit in 1998). I was there!!!
